Mary has worked with various different levels of sailors from Yacht racing teams, youth and junior squads to Olympic and Paralympic teams.
Mary has a broad racing background encompassing many different types of boat from lasers, 420’s to keelboats and skiffs and using her knowledge of high level racing, helps to bring the best out of the sailors she coaches.

YACHT RACING
Having raced for many successful Yacht racing teams Mary understands what it takes to make a good team gel.
YOUTH SAILORS
Mary is an RYA coach and has worked with many top youth and junior sailors to build on their racing skills, often with the aim to allow them to compete successfully at their chosen championship. Mary can offer an individual package for each sailors or group of sailors identifying the key skills they need to work on. Mary has had extensive experience in all of the RYA classes and is able to cover a wide variety of topics from boat handling to race planning and tactical understanding.
OMAN
Mary has worked extensively with the Oman sail keelboat programme. Sailing Farr 30’s, SB20’s and J80’s in Arabia and in Europe coaching as part of the sailing team itself, leading by example and bringing new skills to the Oman team.
Mary has competed four times in the Sailing Tour of Arabia, an offshore race made up of several stop overs with in port racing as well as long passages. Introducing the top Omani sailors to offshore racing and the intensity required to keep sailing at 100% through out the whole tour.
Mary has also run the Women’s J80 campaign competing in the french circuit, taking a group of girls out of their native country and using each event to work on their process goals towards a performance goal at the end of the season.
SINGAPORE PARALYMPIC SKUD TEAM
Mary worked with the Singaporean team of Jovin and Desiree in 2011 in the run up to, and for the IFDS (Paralympic classes) World Championships in Weymouth.
The Skud 18 boat is an exciting and challenging boat, it is a two person keelboat but with a very skiff type feel! It has an asymmetric spinnaker, fully battened sails and a wide dishy hull!
The team had already sailed together for several years and Mary worked with this relationship to profile their strengths and weaknesses and build on their sailing towards the upcoming event. Mary provided event support for the team helping them gain the most from their racing performance and added her extensive knowledge about the sailing venue.
