Finally back home after what has been an eventful and successful summer!

The big competition for me this year was to the RS 800 European championships in Lake Garda. It is a beautiful location and perfect for sailing. We raced against many experienced boys teams and learnt a huge amount about racing skiffs in a big fleet and big winds! We finished 13th overall which is a great start to my skiff racing experience.

Once we had returned from Italy the Olympics had begun and as I wasn’t intimately involved set about supporting the team from the shore as loudly as possible! The atmosphere was amazing in Weymouth, I have never seen so many people watching and getting into sailing! Loved it! I was even lucky enough to go up to the Olympic park in London for a day and managed to watch volleyball and a hockey game which was amazing! I really hope it has inspired the country to get behind sport. It was truly inspirational to see my friends who I had grown up sailing with win Olympic medals, paying off all their hard work over the years. Now I’m even more excited and eager to get started on my campaign for 2016!

But not before a quick trip to Cowes week the British home of yachting! Where I was lucky enough to sail with Louise Morton and her team of girls in a Quarter Tonner called Espada. We won three races and took the overall Cowes week title! Fabulous end to the summer holidays and now back to work!

So I’m back home in Somerset and have some serious gym work to do, long cycles, runs, swims and weight sessions are the order of the day. I am also working on my sponsorship proposals to enable me to buy an old 49er to learn to sail so I’m selling my old boat and doing lots of coaching! So hopefully soon we can get stuck into some sailing!
